This spirit of adventure and discovery is what makes every mountain bike ride unique, turning every ride into an unforgettable journey. The route winds through well-marked paths and dirt roads, offering an easy but exciting route. The landscapes that surround us are a constant source of wonder: undulating hills, lush forests, and glimpses of enchanted valleys alternate along the way.
The mountain bike ride from Assisi to Spello is a fascinating experience that allows you to explore the natural and historical beauty of Umbria. This route is suitable for cyclists of various experience levels and offers a mix of moderate challenges and beautiful views. Departure Point: Assisi, the birthplace of St. Francis which is home to numerous historical and religious sites, such as the Basilica of St. Francis, the Church of St. Clare and the Hermitage of the Prisons. Leaving Assisi means immediately immersing yourself in an atmosphere full of spirituality and history. The route begins with a moderate climb through the streets of Assisi, allowing you to enjoy the views of the Umbrian Valley. After passing the historic center, continue in a south-easterly direction towards the Mount Subasio Park, a protected area rich in flora and fauna. Here, the terrain becomes more challenging with dirt sections and paths winding through forests and meadows. The climbs can be steep in places, but they are offset by fun descents and spectacular views.

After reaching one of the highest points of Mount Subasio, the descent towards Spello begins. This part of the route is characterized by easier paths and dirt roads that offer a more relaxing ride. The panoramic view of the Umbrian countryside is one of the highlights of the journey.
At about 600 meters above sea level on the way we meet Collepino, a small medieval village located in the heart of Umbria, in the municipality of Spello. Surrounded by greenery, this charming village is a true hidden gem, captivating visitors with its historic charm and natural beauty. After a few kilometers downhill, we meet the city famous for the Infiorata, an annual event in which the streets are covered with floral carpets: Spello.

After the ride, you can stroll through the streets of Spello and visit places such as the Church of Santa Maria Maggiore and the Baglioni Chapel, decorated with frescoes by Pinturicchio. After hours of pedaling, we finally reach the end of our route.
The experience culminates with a delicious lunch, prepared with typical Umbrian products, which becomes a panacea for the mind and body. The authentic flavours of the regional cuisine, enjoyed in the company of friends and fellow adventurers, amplify the sense of satisfaction and well-being. Every bite is a pleasure, every conversation a celebration of the emotions experienced together during the day.
