Campello sul Clitunno
Small fortified village, known for the beauty of its springs, from which there is an incredible view of the valley.
Campello retains the presence of a castle built in the 10th and 11th centuries at the behest of the baron of Burgundy Rovero of Champeaux.
Also of interest are the Church of San Donato, the Barnabite monastic complex, the Town Hall, and the Church of the Madonna della Bianca.
Not to be missed is a visit to the springs of the Clitunno River, right at the foot of the village, a mirror ofcrystal-clear water, fed by underground springs and surrounded by dense vegetation of weeping willows and poplars that give the environment anevocative and romantic atmosphere.
